He has earned an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell®, the highest recognition possible in the legal industry, for his professionalism and ethics.

Andrew Turner earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in 1988 and his law degree from Loyola University Chicago in 1991. Following graduation, he served as a law clerk for Judge Julius A. Feinberg of the Superior Court of New Jersey from 1991 to 1992.

Andrew understands retaining counsel to handle collection lawsuits and other litigation in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, including the Special Civil Part, and the Federal Courts within the District of New Jersey is an important decision. Each case deserves special attention and an appropriate strategy to best serve the client.

Andrew is a strong advocate for clients and advance of professionalism in the practice of law. He is a member of the American, New Jersey State, and Essex County Bar Associations. He is currently the Executive Director and former Program Chair and Barrister Chair of the Bankruptcy Inn of Court which is chartered by the American Inns of Court Foundation. He served two
terms as a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Inns of Court Foundation. He is chair and co-founder of the American Inns of Court Bankruptcy Alliance which was formed and joins all of the Bankruptcy Inns across the United States devoted to bankruptcy and insolvency practice.

Turner Law Firm LLC in South Orange, New Jersey, was founded by Andrew’s father more than fifty years ago. They practiced together until May of 2014. Charles B. Turner was in practice for nearly sixty years, while Andrew Turner was admitted to the Bar in 1992. Their practice concentrates in the areas of commercial litigation and creditor’s rights, including commercial collections, contract law, bankruptcy, and appellate practice. Both Charles and Andrew earned the prestigious “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Charles served as a member of the New Jersey Supreme
Court Special Civil Part Practice Committee and the Special Civil Part Committees of both the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Essex County Bar Association. He was also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Construction and Public Contract Law Section. Both Charles and Andrew have lectured extensively for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and other professional associations.

By keeping the number of attorneys at the firm small, they are able to provide each client with specialized attention. However, their size by no means limits the scope of our practice. Andrew covers matters throughout New Jersey, and, in appropriate cases, assisted matters for clients in other states on a limited basis. The client base includes numerous New Jersey corporations, as well as firms located throughout the United States. The firm serves as local New Jersey counsel to several companies which are located outside of New Jersey.

One of the firm’s specialty areas is helping businesses recover money owed to them. The firm also helps businesses with general legal advice on such topics as contracts, negotiations, asset protection, and judgment enforcement.

In addition to his work on behalf of the American Inns of Court, Turner chairs the Appellate Practice Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association and is an active member of the Essex County Bar Association. Andrew has lectured extensively for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education on appellate practice and appearing in the Special Civil Part.

Andrew has been selected to receive the prestigious 2024 American Inns of Court Bankruptcy Distinguished Service Award which recognizes a judge or attorney specializing in bankruptcy law who has exhibited ongoing dedication to the highest standards of the legal profession, the rule of law, and personal ethics and integrity. Turner will receive the award at the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges in Seattle in September.

As a member of the American Inns of Court since 1996, Andrew, along with a colleague, came up with the idea of creating an alliance of Inns of Court dedicated to the practice of bankruptcy law. The goal was to promote the establishment of new Inns focused on bankruptcy law and increase exposure for the American Inns of Court’s mission. Thanks to Andrew, known as the
“Johnny Appleseed of Bankruptcy Inns of Court,” the Bankruptcy Inn Alliance now has 14 member Inns. And looks to grow.

The American Inns of Court seeks to improve the civility, professionalism, and ethics of legal professionals in the field of bankruptcy law. Building upon the success of the Linn Inn Alliance, which is focused on intellectual property Inns, the Bankruptcy Inn Alliance seeks to be a catalyst in the formation of new bankruptcy-focused Inns. The Bankruptcy Alliance also serves as a vehicle for the sharing of meeting and program information and for the enhancement of the American Inns of Court experience among members of the now 14 bankruptcy law American Inns of Court. Andrew has also traveled and spoken extensively about the Inn of Court experience.
